Kristin Wolford lives in the Dominican Republic with her husband Joselo and two young boys, Elliot and Evan. She loves working with young people, encouraging them in their walk with Christ and empowering them to use their gifts and talents in the Kingdom of God.
In 2011, Kristin Wolford began working with a group of young adults from Iglesia Centro Cristiano Shalom in Hato Mayor del Rey. She helped these young people start a ministry that works with children living in poverty right in their cities. Today, this ministry includes over 30 young adults from four cities who travel to eight different neighborhoods to reach over 250 children every week, all year long.
They start with prayer and worship, teach Bible stories, play games, do crafts, offer extra help with reading, writing and arithmetic, provide a snack and build relationships with children.
The young adults are positive Christian role models who offer hope to children living in very difficult economic conditions. These young leaders don’t stop there, however. Throughout the week, they also lead discipleship classes for other youth, preach on a radio program, teach English classes, music classes, offer craft workshops for adolescents, prepare Bible lessons and snacks for their Saturday classes, and they take care of the ministry office.
God is doing so many wonderful things in and through this ministry. The young adults are growing in tremendous ways in their faith and as Christian leaders, and they are influencing the lives of many children and their families for Christ.
Expansion Project – Water Center
Ramas Vivas is currently raising funds and making plans to construct a center for selling purified water in our community. This small business will provide safe drinking for people in our city and become an economic engine for our ministry. With the funds earned, we expect to be able to provide full-time jobs for 4-5 people and invite more youth to join our ministry. We will train and equip these youth then send them off to reach children in another 4-5 neighborhoods with the love of Christ.
To donate towards this project specifically, please write “RVW” or “Ramas Vivas Water” in the comments box at the bottom of our donation form.
A note about our funding
