And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
This was a month for lots of traveling and music. We traveled 12 hours to hear Karen play in an opera (the Magic Flute, and Karen was the principle flute player and played the real flute when the onstage person played the fake flute), then came back home to hear Esther play in a concert with her college wind ensemble, then went back to Karen’s school to her her junior recital on flute and host her after-recital reception, then back home to hear Esther play in her junior recital on clarinet and host her after-recital reception. Then we heard the local professional orchestra play a wonderful concert at the end of the month.
Karen just finished her junior year in college and Esther will be finished with her junior year of college this month. Both of them will be at home or close by most of the summer.
Eric is leading some of the football players and coaches on a mission trip to an inner-city ministry in New Orleans, where he has spent many summers as an intern and then a summer or two leading the team of interns.
John is getting lots of places to play music and teach music lessons.
Jeannette will be traveling to Germany this month to visit a former coworker and good friend, Karin. She will also be traveling some by train in Germany and France. She is excited and nervous about the trip. She plans to share about Christ with her friend. Pray for Jeannette as she shares the Gospel with Karin.
The traveling this month limited what we could do with Sarah. But with the exegetical check of 1 John finished, I spent some time this month getting the conversion to a different writing system set up. Sarah now has it and is going through it to find any problems in the conversion, while I am entering the changes into the computer. I have been encouraging Sarah to read through 1 John with the 3-4 speakers of her language in her location (a community check). That would help make sure it communicates clearly and naturally. After that we will do the final read-through.
I spent several days this month helping Dot with some computer issues. She needs to get her computer upgraded for security purposes, and I have asked my sister who lives near her if she can help out with that. I have also helped Dot, who is 86, convert some autobiographical information into a format she can edit. There are two projects that Dot is waiting for other people’s help to get finished. Pray for those things to get finished so Dot can do the final bits of them before sending them off for publishing.
- Finish the check of the conversion of Sarah’s 1 John
- Get Dot’s computer upgraded
- Start on the final read through of 1 John
- For an easy conversion to a different writing system for Sarah’s 1 John
- For God’s wonderful love, mercy and grace in Jesus Christ
- For Godly leaders in churches around the world
- That the projects Dot is working on can be finished soon
- That Sarah can get at least 2-3 speakers of her language to help with the community check for naturalness and clarity of communication
- For a safe and fun trip for Jeannette and that she can share the Good News with her friend.
Thank you for your prayers and encouragement.
