May God bless you as you see his mission where you live. Because He is real in our lives…we will hear his call…we will be sent as Jesus was sent to reveal the one and only true God to the world. This is all about bringing honor and glory to our incredible Creator God.
Our launch month for the New Year is history…so now it is all about maintaining course as we seek to fully engage in the weekly tasks that God will set before us as the priorities in the work of building relationships and helping disciple all that he interconnects with our life.
Our family here on the Central Coast maintains a full schedule of work, school and activities…we are all involved with many people each week…and so we pray that our personal life ministries will be used to touch others and effect change as our influence as a follower of Jesus radiates.
Our church family is also aspiring to become a better working team…as we support one another and gather with one another as a body through the week. We are convinced that the more we can share our lives with one another, the more growth and the more outreach will result. So we are constantly trying to counter our culture which tends to move us into our own little isolated worlds.
Our Mission #1
The great first quest for our fellowship…is to see more spontaneous expressions of people’s love for the Lord and for one another erupt weekly, both in their normal daily life and in the scheduled gatherings that are planned and announced each week. This is a true indication of our heart and affections being set on the Lord and seeking his kingdom first. It is so obvious when our activities begin to flow from ourselves…death is at the door…you can feel it.
Our Mission #2
The challenge of letting God use what we have for his purposes is ever before us. Our time, our homes and our families are our greatest resources. So we weekly encourage people to open up their life and their homes. This is hospitality…which was the ministry that Jesus was always doing as he connected with people. Christ knew that this was the key to meeting people and developing friendships. We as his followers must learn to develop this ministry in our lives…something everyone can do. We pray it will be happening here.
Our Mission #3
Our greatest gift is the God-given personality that is being developed in our lives. We are aware that the influence that flows from our inner person is supernatural if Jesus is in control…and it is the “light” that he talked about that must shine in order to see others turn to God. So we are teaching each week the Scriptures and seeking to show the application of Scripture by our life examples. We desire each person might experience the “living Word” activated within them.
Jesus was constantly thinking about the lost sheep….and he said he came to seek and save the lost. We are encouraging every person to develop a listing of the people in their world…this is their mission field. This becomes a prayer list and a constant reminder of who they should be contacting and meeting with as God puts people together. These who are lost need to be on our mind and targeted with the love of Christ. So our planning must include time to communicate with our world…through intentional connection.
Jesus was always seeking to build his team of followers…to see them united…to see them focused…to see them working together in a synchronized manner. This is also what we pray will happen here…so the entire body will be coordinated… serving as a well-tuned engine.
If we are “on mission” we will be seeking to do these five missions simultaneously day by day. This is “life” for our family and our church family. It is what God is doing…using his kingdom community to draw the net…to build the body…to mature his followers…to make our God known to the human race.
May God also bless you as you see his mission where you live. Because He is real in our lives…we will hear his call…we will be sent as Jesus was sent to reveal the one and only true God to the world. This is all about bringing honor and glory to our incredible Creator God.
