1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 2 through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, 3 who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer.
Praise God for His love and kindness. I'm thankful for what He has shown us through you as well. God has been and is so kind to us. He has shown long-suffering, mercy, and loving-kindness as he continues to shepherd us and teach us in His ways. And His care for us is wonderful.
VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE
About 10 years ago, God used the above verses to put a crack in the dam of demonic teaching that had been holding me back from so much joy and life. Eventually that dam burst and one of it's wonderful results was me being able to marry my wife with a good conscience (that is a conscience that is functioning correctly). She is a huge blessing to me and our children and so much better than I could ever deserve. I heard the verses in a sermon by Ryan Fullerton. I don't even think it was the main text that he was preaching on, but praise God that his Word did not return void. Just a few days ago a sermon by Ryan was uploaded to a good Youtube channel I subscribe to and I was able to watch it. The message of well exposited scripture regarding the conscience is so important, I then sat down with my wife and children and listened to it again pausing it to try and explain the main points to our children. I know most all of you who get this newsletter quite well and think it so important that you understand what he is teaching in this sermon. Please take the time and listen to it.

We had a few months at the beginning of this year where our missionary support was short by about 50%. It was challenging, but we had all we needed for each day. Sometimes is seems like during the times I am the poorest God let's us eat the best. (Thank you mom for teaching me to love cooking at a young age.) God encouraged me in special ways. An elderly mother of 16 children saw me on the street and sent one of her daughters into the store to hand me 100 lei. It sure made me smile. May God bless her. Another couple in the US sent a special gift that brought our support back up to what it is supposed to be for last month. That not only made me smile, it allowed me to order next years curriculum for our children. Yes, God is so kind to us.
God has very kindly continued to let us go to a women's prison to preach the gospel. I say us, because He has opened the door for a brother from our gathering to go as well the last two times. He does a great job explaining the scriptures and sharing the gospel it makes me rejoice.
On our way home from the prison this last Saturday, I was talking with this same brother (Marion) and was hit with the idea for us to camp as a church. He love it. Here in Romania Easter is celebrated this year on May 1st. I've been in contact with a brother who has a camp that would be perfect, not too far from us in the mountains. It has the potential to be a huge blessing to all of us, and I pray it works out.
We're still in need of a bigger vehicle. When we travel as a family Andrea has to hold a child in her lap as we don't have room. So far we have about enough in our vehicle fund to buy a 20 year old mini-van. I don't think that is a great investment or route to go. We probably need about $4-5,000 more to get a decent used vehicle that would fit us. If that is something you would like to help with please send funds through the means below with a memo: CFR-car
Prayer and Praise
- Please pray with us for a vehicle. We're very thankful for what we have, we just don't fit in it anymore.
- Please pray that God works things out with our desire to have a camp as a church this Easter. That He would provide for it, open the doors, and save the lost, refresh us, and build us up in our faith.
- Praise the Lord for the open doors to share the gospel. Please pray with us that He would open up more, and give us grace to not fear, but boldly walk through and proclaim the truth in love. And that God would work and save souls and build His church.
- Please pray for the gathering we are part of. Marion and I are functioning as elders, and this is no small responsibility. We need wisdom from God to under-shepherd His people.
- Praise God for His truth (after you listen to the message I sent you above).
