Back to School

Glad to report that the youth from El Valiente are in school!

Back to School

Rain or Shine!

We are happy to report that the 12 youth from our team in El Valiente made it back to school.  They acquired their uniforms, shoes and school supplies with help from churches in their community who do a drive every year.  Currently they are making the 8km trek to school each day on foot.

Four in this group were not in school last year, and we are so proud of them for overcoming the challenges and getting back on track this fall.

I also am so thankful for their leader Yadaris who went the extra mile in writing letters, attending meetings and talking to the authorities about fixing the road out to their community.

She has a bus lined up to pick up the kids at 6:45am and return them at 1pm when their classes are done.  This will begin for a small fee as soon as the road is repaired.

Unfortunately the hens still have not been producing eggs.  We had a set back last month in that a several of the hens got sick after all of the rain in July/August.  They are in recovery now.  We are waiting patiently and hope to see eggs in the next few months.

Joselo's sister from Pennsylvania came to visit in August.  She hasn't seen her father or siblings here in the Dominican Republic for 8 years.  We spent a lot of time this month with her and with Joselo's family as we don't know when we will all be together again.  We thank God for this special time.
We also celebrated Elliot's 2nd birthday this August.
It was an honor and privilege for Joselo to have the opportunity to dedicate his nieces to the Lord while they were here during the service we hold each week in our home.  We pray that God would bless this family and that these girls would chose to invite Jesus into their lives at a young age.
