2013 LEI Report of Accomplishments

ALL, Leadership Equip International

Isaiah 7:14 NIV

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

Adoption

I think our biggest success this year is Bo joining us and adapting to U.S. culture. His heart surgery in May went well. He continues to gain height and weight rapidly since this surgery. He’s a big blessing to us – he adds to much ‘life’ day to day in our lives. It’s exciting to see God’s glory expressed in unique ways through his personality, through his character.

International Trips

Brent made 2 trips internationally this year. Both were to Ukraine and Russia. The first trip was focused more on helping build quality teams for Eurasia’s IFES student ministry teams. We did MBTI and FIRO-B personality and interpersonal needs training for groups from Azerbaijian and Armenia as well as some individual spiritual gifts and team-building coaching for the Kyrgystan team. Our plan is to follow up some with these groups in 2014.

Details of the trainings:

Azerbaijan Team

  • Conducted MBTI Personality Assessments for entire team over multiple sessions
  • Individual coaching sessions with each team member to identify greatest giftings and strengths
  • FIRO-B Interpersonal Needs assessment group session
  • Follow up sessions via email to answer questions and set up future sessions

Armenia Team

  • Conducted MBTI Personality Assessments for entire team over multiple sessions
  • Conducted MBTI Personality Assessments for entire team over multiple sessions
  • Individual coaching sessions with each team member to identify greatest giftings and strengths
  • Email follow up with individuals that wanted to dialogue more about their own giftings and team’s giftings

Cross-Cultural Church Ministry

For the first 6 months of the year, we were heavily involved with the cross-cultural church in Kansas City, KS. Brent worked as an Elder, was the financial team chairman, and conducted team-building training for the leaders of the church. We put together a solid budget for the church, hired a person to do monthly financial accounting, and conducted a stewardship campaign. Stephanie was involved with the Harvester’s Food distribution and was in the rotation for teaching children’s Sunday school. In June, we transitioned out of this church since we were planning to move to Eastern Europe. Brent let the other Elders know a couple of months ahead of time for transition planning. Brent was traveling back and forth several weeks at a time to Russia and Ukraine, so we decided to go to a nearby local church until we moved. We still have a heart for cross-cultural ministry and there will be opportunities for this where we will live in 2014. Brent has taken different work with a company in Oklahoma that is in the agriculture industry and will allow for travel back and forth some to Russia.
